Who is Jennifer Nicol
I am an artist, and have been teaching watercolours to multiple grade-level students in schools across the Ottawa region since 2003. This includes teaching organized groups of children at birthday parties, as well as Art in the Park venues.
I started up a workshop entitled "Wine, Cheese & Watercolours" which offers a night out with friends or a team-building exercise for work colleagues. I have also developed and teach an art program for the Ottawa Aphasia Centre which is a support group for people that have had strokes.
As well, I facilitate the “Smiling Siblings Watercolour Workshop” which is a support group for brothers and sisters of children with cancer. In the workshops, I walk the participants through composition to completion with each participant expressing themselves with colour. It is an escape from the sadness they are experiencing. The children call it the "ooo la la class."
